MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 2, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team took on SCAD-Savannah on Saturday evening for their last regular season Sun Conference match of 2024. The Bobcats fell to the Bees 4-0, finishing the regular season in fourth place in the Sun Conference with an overall record of 7-3-5 and conference record of 4-3-1.
The Bees started the game off hot, scoring in the fourth minute of the match up. They kept that momentum alive throughout the first half, scoring two more goals, one in the 22nd minute and another in the 26th. The Bees were able to put up six shots, and
Isabella Penaranda notched two saves in the half. The Bobcats were down 3-0 heading in the halftime break.Â
St. Thomas kept their guard up heading into the second half, holding the Bees off until the 73rd minute when they extended their lead with another goal. Penaranda picked up four more saves in the second half, bringing her total to six for the game. Gabi Cimino led the team in shots, picking up three against the Bees. The Bobcats were unable to find the back of the net, falling to the Bees 4-0.
Up next, the Bobcats will host Ave Maria University for their first game of the 2024 Sun Conference Tournament on Thursday, November 7th. The time is to be announced.
