MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 5, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team is set to host
LSU-Alexandria on Thursday evening for their second match up of the season. The Bobcats enter the game with a 1-0 record after defeating
Florida National University.
This is the Bobcats' first match up with the Generals in series history. The Generals are currently 2-0 after defeating #13 Loyola University (La.) and University of Mobile (Ala.). Last season they were 23-6 and 19-3 in Red River Conference play. Dannah Martin-Hartwick led the team with 27 points against Loyola and 17 points against Mobile. The Generals are currently averaging 77.0 points per game, 39.5 rebounds per game, and a .442 field goal percentage. The Bobcats will take on LSU-Alexandria on Thursday, November 7th at 5:30 p.m. in the Fernandez Family Center.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Katrina Litte had a standout performance against Florida National in the Bobcats' first match up of the season, scoring 19 points. Litte earned her first Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor for her performance in her Bobcat debut.
- Sophie Vandyke notched her first double-double performance of the season against the Conquistadors, pickign up 17 points and 11 rebounds. Vandyke has been a staple to the Bobcats' squad since 2023, finishing second in the Sun Conference in blocks with 52.
- Ra'Nae Tumblin had a great start to her senior season, picking up 16 points against the Conquistadors. Tumblin also had seven rebounds and five assists in the season opener.
