MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 5, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team is set to host the Sun Conference Quarterfinals on Thursday evening, where they will face off against Ave Maria University. 

In their last match up, the Bobcats defeated Ave Maria on the road, 2-0. Gabi Cimino scored both goals for St. Thomas, securing the victory. Earlier in the season, the Bobcats hosted the Gyrenes at AutoNation field, ending the match in a 1-1 draw. The Gyrenes are entering the match up with an overall record of 6-4-4 and a Sun Conference record of 3-2-3. The Bobcats will be entering postseason play with a record of 7-3-5 and a Sun Conference record of 4-3-1. The match up will take place on the Thursday, November 7th at 5 p.m. at AutoNation Field.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

• Gabi Cimino has led the charge for the Bobcats all season, with 11 goals. Cimino has also notched four assists and recorded 108 shots.
• Megan Velazquez has been a consistent leader on the field for STU, leading the team with six assists, and second in goals with three.   
• Carolina de Vega picked up the lone goal against the Gyrenes in the Bobcats' first match up of the season/ 
• Dayanara Monetti has played a big role in the Bobcats' success against Ave Maria, picking up an assist in each of their match ups against the Gyrenes.
