MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 27, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Flag Football team picked up their first win of the season in dominant fashion over the Florida Memorial Lions. Holly Neher was stellar in the pocket for the Bobcats, completing 23 of her 41 attempts for 226 yards and four touchdowns. Jada Graham was her go to receiver in the red zone, as she reeled in two touchdown grabs, and had four catches for 29 yards.

To open the game the Bobcats and the Lions went back and forth ending both drives prematurely. On the Lions second drive, STU was able to get a sack on fourth down and get the ball to the offense in good field position. Making no mistakes, Holly Neher and the offense went on a ten play drive and capped it off with a Jada Graham touchdown to take the early lead. The very next drive for Florida Memorial would result in an interception for the Bobcat defense by Mayerli Cayon. In five plays, Neher would hit Jada Graham once again, this time for a nine yard touchdown pass.

With STU up 14-0 the Lions had to find an answer. They would find it on their next drive, as they marched down the field and scored to make it 14-6 after the failed extra point conversion. The half would end there, and the Bobcats would take the lead into the locker room. To open the third quarter, STU came out with some spark. The offense went on an eight play 66 yard drive that was finished with a pass to freshman Lia Cruz who made some Lions miss for a 34 yard touchdown. The Bobcat defense would hold the Lions to no points in the second half with just a few first downs. A Tashumba Washington interception set up the offense to add one more to the board, as Tyler Bryant snagged a 24 yard touchdown pass.
