MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 6, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team will be facing off against Florida Memorial University for the round two of the Battle of Miami Gardens on the road this week. 

For the first match up, the Bobcats will head down the road to Florida Memorial to face the Lions for the second time this season. In their last meeting, the Bobcats defeated the Lions 80-61, keeping the lead for the duration of the match. The Lions are currently 9-12 overall and 1-7 in Sun Conference play, defeating Keiser University in their first meeting. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH 

• Marta Franco was a standout player in the Bobcats most recent game against Coastal Georgia, scoring 14 points. Franco is the third-leading scorer for the Bobcats with 208 points and second in assists with 72. 

• Camila Flefil had a key performance in the Bobcats last match up against Coastal Georgia, putting up 14 points against the Mariners. Flefil is currently the fifth-leading scorer for the Bobcats with 170 points and second in three-pointers made with 41. 

• Paige McDonald also played a key role in the Coastal Georgia game with eight points and eight rebounds. McDonald is currently the second-leading scorer for the Bobcats with 223 points this season, second in rebounds with 140, and leading in blocks with 43.
