MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 21, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Baseball team picked up a mercy rule victory over Florida National last night. The Bobcats went down 3-1 early in the ballgame, but were able to get hot in the batters box and end the game in eight innings. As a team, STU had 10 hits, 13 runs, and just four strikeouts. 
1st Inning 
	- Christopher Schoeller started the game off at the plate for the Bobcats with a double to right center. 
- Robin Fernandez then hit a single over the short stops head to left field, which advanced Schoeller to third.
- Rey Hernandez then stepped into the box and put one in play that was able to give Schoeller enough time to give STU the early lead. STU 1-0
2nd Inning
	- In the top of the second, FNU was able to tie the game at one with a single with a baserunner on third. 
3rd Inning
	- A big top of the third for Florida National gave them a two run lead heading into the bottom of the third. FNU 3-1
- In the bottom of the third, Luis Rodriguez ripped one over the left field wall to bring the Bobcats to within one run. FNU 3-2
4th Inning
	- With Yardielo Oniel reaching on a fielder's choice, and getting into scoring position with a stolen base, Christopher Schoeller hit a single to right center to score him and tie the game a three a piece. 
5th Inning
	- With three Bobcats on the base path, Lucas Lopez knocked a double to right field to bring home Nathan Montagnin and Rey Hernandez. STU 5-3
- On a wild pitch, Christopher Estrada was able to score from third, and Lopez was able to go to third. STU 6-3
- Yardielo Oniel stepped up to the plate and drilled a double to right center, scoring Lopez on thrid. STU 7-3
- After stealing third, Oniel would score after the FNU catcher over threw the third baseman. STU 8-3
6th Inning
8th Inning
	- With three Bobcats on, Henry Fernandez would end the game in the bottom of the eighth with a single down the left field line that added two more runs. STU 13-3
