The Bobcats open their 2024 campaign ranked 12 in the preseason poll following a 9-4 2023 fall that ended in the NAIA National Championship second round. 2023 NAIA All-Americans Nicholas Engler (First Team, Sun Conference Defensive Player & Defensive Lineman of the Year), Rontavious Farmer (Second Team, Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Year) and David Hayes (Third Team, Sun Conference Receiver of the Year) highlight the returners for St. Thomas, who opened last season with a 70-14 victory over UFTL.

The Eagles head to Miami Gardens after kicking off their 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 24 with a 40-0 setback at Webber International. Josiah Mitchel recorded an interception and forced fumble for UFTL, while Justice Johnson added one pick and Bobby Jackson forced one fumble.

The 19 ranked Bobcats return home riding a nine-game winning streak, keeping their undefeated season in tact with four wins at the Faulkner Tournament last weekend in Montgomery, Ala. It is just the second time STU is playing at home, opening the year with a 3-0 sweep of 11 ranked Missouri Baptist.

Alexandra Bruno paces the offense behind 2.83 kills and 0.63 service aces, ranking fifth and fourth within the Sun Conference, getting her feeds from Payton Bertke who dishes out a league-leading 10.43 assists. Bianca Grassi leads the conference in digs with 5.90 per set, while Tayla Barnes boasts a conference-best 1.04 blocks.

Park makes its first trip to St. Thomas after going 2-1 at the 2024 Park Invitational, ending their home tournament with a 3-1 setback against Cornerstone University on Saturday, Aug. 24. Ung Grecia boasts 5.73 kills per set, second-highest average in the NAIA.

Mobile concludes their stay in the Sunshine State against St. Thomas, taking the trip after going 5-0 at the Rams Invitational to improve their record to 8-1. The Rams rank fourth nationally with 14.29 kills per set on a .264 hitting percentage that places eighth with three Rams hitting over .300.

Webber ventures to STU for a non-conference matchup after opening play in the South Florida Invitational against Mobile and co-host Florida Memorial. The Warriors hold a 1-5 record, earning their lone triumph over receiving votes Texas Wesleyan 3-1 on Friday, Aug, 23. Nadia Reid ranks amongst the best in the Sun Conference in kills behind a 2.86 rate that places fourth while Rylee Bolser averages 0.90 blocks which ranks third.

Tied for second in the Week One NAIA Poll, the Men’s Soccer team takes on its second nationally-ranked teams in as many games with a neutral-site matchup against No. 13 Grace at the NAIA Atlanta Classic. The Bobcats kicked off their 2024 campaign with a 2-0 victory over then-ranked 21 Florida National on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Francisco Tolaba and Nick In’t Zand found the back of the net for STU in their season opener, with Teo Rondon and Guido Cacciabue both tallying assists. Rodrigo de la Terga recorded a shutout in his first appearance in goal for St. Thomas, stopping four shots.

Grace hits the road for the first time after dropping a 2-1 decision to nationally-ranked Mid-American Christian on Saturday, Aug. 24. Kyle Holweda paces the offense behind two goals scored, while Matteo Conci holds opponents to 1.50 goals.

On the heels of a historic 6-0 victory over Florida National on Thursday, Aug. 29, the Bobcats venture out of state to take on St. Francis. STU hits the road for the first time following back-to-back shutout wins to open the year. 

Fueled by a program single-game record tying five goals against FNU, Gabi Cimino ranks second in the NAIA with six goals scored while her 12 points places third. Megan Velazquez, the new program record holder for assists in a game with four, ranks third nationally with four assists.

St. Francis welcomes STU after winning their first game of the year in a 4-0 victory over Mount Mercy on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Ariande Gonzalez and Mia Perri both record five points for the Fighting Saints, while Krystal Rodriguez holds a 1.34 goals allowed average.
