Miami Gardens, Fla. – With their fourth-straight Sun Conference Tournament trophy on the line on Saturday afternoon, the St. Thomas University overcame a -.033 hitting percentage in the opening set against New College of Florida for a 3-2 (16-25, 25-11, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12) triumph.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Facing a double-digit deficit late in the opening set at 23-13, the Bobcats attempted to stage a rally behind three-straight points before the Mighty Banyans ended the frame with back-to-back tallies.
- The Bobcats scored the opening two points and never trailed in the second set, creating a double-digit advantage at 16-6.
- Staring set point at 24-19 in the third set, the Bobcats scored four-straight to get within one at 24-23 only for a NCF point to move them one set away from the conference crown.
- The Bobcats raced out to a 4-0 start to the fourth set and kept the lead above three for the entire frame.
- After trading the opening 14 points of the first-to-15 deciding frame, the Bobcats responded to a New College tally with three-straight and held the visitors without a run of consecutive points until back-to-back made it 14-12 STU.
