MIAMI GARDENS, FLA ( DECEMBER 31, 2025) - The St. Thomas University Men's Basketball team defeated the visiting College of the Ozarks Bobcats, 82–72, behind an efficient offensive effort and balanced scoring on Wednesday night.
The game was tightly contested early, with both teams trading baskets throughout the first half. Ozarks grabbed a brief advantage midway through the opening period, building their largest lead of five points, but St. Thomas responded with strong shooting to keep the game within reach. The Bobcats shot 61.3 percent from the field in the first half, allowing them to head into the break with momentum in a closely played 20 minutes.
St. Thomas took control after halftime, using its rebounding advantage and second-chance opportunities to create separation. The Bobcats pushed the pace and steadily built their lead, extending it to as many as 17 points with just over 14 minutes remaining in the second half. Ozarks attempted to rally behind improved perimeter shooting, but St. Thomas maintained its composure and closed out the win.
Kaleb Myers led all scorers with 20 points and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds while shooting 8-for-13 from the floor. Noah Tovar provided a spark off the bench, pouring in 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 effort from beyond the arc. Adrian Cruz added 18 points and dished out five assists to help guide the offense.
St. Thomas finished the game shooting 53.4 percent from the field and 92.3 percent from the free-throw line. The Bobcats held a 36–26 advantage on the boards and scored 16 second-chance points. The bench contributed 26 points, providing valuable depth throughout the contest.
Ozarks were led by Garrett Snyder, who scored 15 points, while DJ Quarles added 13 points. Despite shooting 44.8 percent overall and knocking down timely shots in the second half, Ozarks were unable to overcome St. Thomas' efficiency and control in the paint.
The win highlighted a complete team performance by St. Thomas, as the Bobcats combined strong shooting, rebounding, and bench production to secure the home victory over Ozarks.
St. Thomas will look to continue their winning ways as they host College of Coastal Georgia after the New Year on Saturday, January 3rd.
