Bobcats Edge Mariners in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (FEBRUARY 1, 2025) – The St. Thomas University Bobcats men's basketball team battled to a 66-59 victory over the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners in a competitive match - up on Saturday night.

Behind stellar performances from Daniel Ogoro and Sean Shore, who each poured in 19 points, the Bobcats  overcame a resilient Mariners squad to claim the win. St. Thomas shot 44.2% from the field while capitalizing on key defensive stops late in the game.

The Bobcats started strong, shooting 44% in the first half and were even at 30 going to the break. Coastal Georgia fought back behind Jeremiah Camara's 15 points and seven rebounds, but St. Thomas answered with clutch free throws down the stretch, finishing 13-of-19 from the line.

Dalon Dean added 14 points for the Bobcats, while Noah Tovar and Kyle Feldman provided crucial support off the bench. St. Thomas controlled the boards with a 38-31 rebounding edge and turned 11 Coastal Georgia turnovers into 20 points.

Despite a hot start from beyond the arc (5-of-8 in the first half), the Mariners struggled in the second half, hitting just 2-of-10 from deep. The Bobcats' defense tightened late, limiting Coastal Georgia's scoring opportunities and securing the seven-point win.

With this victory, St. Thomas continues its push in conference play, looking ahead to its next road match-up against Southeastern University on Wednesday, February 5th.

Tip off is set for 7PM in Lakeland, FL.
