MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – For their showings at the 2025 Sun Conference Championship this past weekend,
Stella Warborn from the St. Thomas University Women's Swimming and Diving Team was named the Conference Women's Swimmer of the Year while
Mireya Bonilla was crowned the Women's Diver of the Year.
A 2024 All-American, Warborn broke a pair of Meet Records en route to three individual gold medals. Her 2:04.54 time in the 200 Yard IM and 2:12.65 mark in the 200 Yard Backstroke are both the new records, while her 1:01.73 finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke was enough for first place. She added a pair of top-three finishes in relay events, pairing with
Alessia Claassen,
Brianna Hernandez and
Martine Abrahamsen in the 400 Yard Medley for a 3:52.00 swim for second and a 1:45.36 time in the 200 Yard Medley alongside Classen,
Anaya Robinson and Abrahamsen.
Bonilla earned Diver of the Year status after taking first in both the One and Three Meter Dives. She logged a 2.16.20 score in the One Meter and 214.95 in the Three Meter.
The pair led the Bobcats to a runner-up finish at the Sun Conference Championship, with STU returning to the pool for the Bobcat Last Chance on Friday, Feb. 14 before traveling to the NAIA National Championship on Mar. 8.
