Marietta, Ga. - Playing their first-ever game as a nationally ranked program on Thursday evening, the 15th-ranked St. Thomas Men's Volleyball Team swept Life University 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20 

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Set 1 – Trailing midway through the opening set 16-15, the Bobcats scored four-straight to take a 19-16 advantage while holding the host without a run of consecutive points for the duration of the frame. 

• Set 2 – After splitting the opening 26 points of the second set, STU pulled ahead behind a 3-0 run to take a 16-13 lead. Life responded with back-to-back points to get within one, only for an equal response by the Bobcats recreating the three-point separation with St. Thomas keeping the lead above two for the rest of the stanza. 

• Set 3 – A 5-0 STU run midway through the third set broke a 10-10 stalemate, with the Bobcats keeping Life without a run greater than two to complete the sweep. 

NOTEWORTHY: 

• Kaelen Ingram tallied a team-high 10 kills on a .400 clip on top of one solo block and two assisted. 

• Matheus Collares recorded 24 assists and six digs. 

• Gabriel Negrao added eight kills on a .583 hitting percentage. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• STU finished the match with 31kills on a .414hitting percentage versus 39 kills on a .177 clip for Life. 

• St. Thomas served two aces versus six for the host.  

• The Bobcats logged six assisted blocks with four solo, Life recorded one solo and four assisted. 

• STU held a 24-17 advantage in digs.
