MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 28, 2025) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team faced off against Southeastern University on Friday evening in the semifinals of the 2025 Sun Conference Tournament. Despite a strong second half, the Bobcats could not put out the Fire, falling to Southeastern 56-66.

St. Thomas had a rough start in the match up, with the Fire outscoring them 22-11 in the first quarter. In quarter two, Southeastern held the Bobcats to even less as they extended their lead to 41-18. Despite the low scoring half, Joey Delancy had an impressive two quarters, putting up seven points in each, bringing her to 14 before halftime.

The Bobcats did not give up, looking to fight the fire after the break. St. Thomas outscored Southeastern 21-15 in quarter three, going 58.3% in field goals. Maddie Scharrenberg played a large role in their third quarter success, picking up seven points and three rebounds. Scharrenberg went on to add five more points in quarter four along with Jaliyah Weekes who added five herself.
