Bobcats Head to Lakeland to Fight (RV) Fire

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 5, 2025) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team will head to Lakeland, Fla. on Wednesday to face off against (RV) Southeastern University for the second time this season. Both the Bobcats and the Fire will enter the match up with a Sun Conference record of 9-2, tying them for first alongside Florida Memorial University.

The Bobcats will enter the match up with an overall record of 15-6, coming off a 2-0 week, defeating both Webber International and College of Coastal Georgia. In their last meeting, the Bobcats fell to the Fire 76-64 at home. STU capitalized on fast-break points and second-chance points, while the Fire focused on points in the paint. Last season, St. Thomas went 1-1 against Southeastern in regular season play, defeating them on the road 79-74. The match up will take place on Wednesday, February 5th at 5:30 p.m. in the Furnace on Southeastern's campus.

After their meeting with the Fire, the Bobcats will return home and enjoy a Saturday off before they resume play next week.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
  • Maddie Scharrenberg had a solid week, picking up 27 points, 23 of which were against the Warriors. Scharrenberg currently leads the Bobcats with 204 points this season.
  • Jasmine Worthy had a great performance against the Mariners last week, recording 18 points and nine rebounds. Worthy has recorded four double-doubles this season and is currently averaging 11.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game
  • Madison Lippy had two double-figure performances last week, recording 11 points against the Warriors and 17 points against the Mariners.
