Lake Wales, Fla. – Wrapping up their first weekend of Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Saturday afternoon, the St. Thomas Men's Volleyball team held Warner to a -.059 hitting percentage in the opening set of a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-23) victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1 – STU overcame an early 3-1 deficit in the first set behind a 4-0 run and kept the lead above two for the duration of the set.
- Set 2 – After trading two-point sprees to start the second set, the Bobcats used an 8-1 stretch to quickly pull ahead 10-3. STU held Warner to just one run greater than two in the stanza, a 3-0 run that made it 17-13 in favor of the Bobcats.
- Set 3 – Playing from behind after a 3-0 start by the host, STU claimed the lead at 5-4 behind a 3-0 run before using an identical rally to take a 9-7 lead. The Royals rallied late to get within one at 19-18, fending off a pair of match points to make it a one-point game again at 24-23 before the Bobcats ended the contest.
NOTEWORTHY:

- STU finished the match with 36 kills on a .259 hitting percentage versus 26 kills on a .127 clip for the host.
- St. Thomas served nine aces while the Royals tallied six.
