Miami Gardens, Fla. - Kicking off play in their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Conference Pod on Saturday morning with an opening set that featured a perfect hitting percentage, the 15th-ranked St. Thomas Men's Volleyball Team never trailed against visiting Truett McConnell in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-16) sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Set 1 – The Bobcats scored the opening four points of the contest while fending off an early run by the visitors that knotted the score at 6-6 with back-to-back points to maintain the lead. 

• Set 2 – STU held TMU without a run of consecutive points during the entire second set to quickly take a 2-0 overall lead. 

• Set 3 – St. Thomas extended the visitor's stretch without consecutive points until back-to-back tallies midway through the third set made it 14-9 in favor of the Bobcats. 

 
NOTEWORTHY: 

• Jesus Montes went a perfect 8-8 from the court, adding five digs. 

• Ian Izquierdo boasted 12 kills on a .786 hitting percentage. 

• Kaelen Ingram filled the stat sheet behind nine kills, five service ace, four digs, three assisted blocks and one solo block. 

• Matheus Collares recorded 36 assists and six digs. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• STU finished the match with 44 kills on a .683 hitting percentage versus 24 kills on a .234 clip for the Bears. 

• St. Thomas served nine aces versus five for the visitors.  

• The Bobcats logged six assisted blocks with one solo, TMU recorded two assisted and one solo. 

• STU held a 26-12 advantage in digs.
