WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 22, 2025) - The #18 Bobcats traveled North this weekend to face off against
Keiser University for another series of Sun Conference play. St. Thomas dropped their first conference meeting of the season against the Seahawks on Saturday afternoon, but still took the series, 2-1.
Game One: St. Thomas 6, Keiser 3
- The Seahawks were the first on the board in game one of the series on Friday evening, going up one run in the first inning.
- The Bobcats quickly responded in the top of the second with a single from Bianca Palacios bringing home Anna Toon, and a sacrifice fly from Alahnis Berrios to bring home Palacios.
- Keiser managed to take the lead back in the bottom of the second, but that did not stop the Bobcats. Victoria Navarro singled to right center in the top of the third, bringing home Toon and Gabriella Gilbert to put the Bobcats back on top, 4-3.
- Toon secured the win for the Bobcats with a homer to right center, bringing home Gilbert along the way to put STU up 6-3.Â
- Toon earned the victory for this game, bringing her record to 15-1.
Game Two: St. Thomas 3, Keiser 4 (9 innings)
- Game two was a close one, but the Bobcats started off strong with a solo home run from Isabella Andujar to center field to put the Bobcats up 1-0. Keiser quickly responded to tie it up in the bottom of the first.
- Andujar homered again, this time to left field, putting the Bobcats in the lead once more. The Seahawks tied it up shortly there after.
- The score was 2-2 until the 8th inning, when Natalie Kopicova hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Palacios.
- The game continued on as Keiser tied it up once more, before notching one last run in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn the victory 4-3.
- Toon picked up the loss in this game, her second of the season.
Game Three: St. Thomas 5, Keiser 3
- In game three, Andujar continued her stellar Saturday with another homer to center field in the first, followed by a double in the third that scored Mya Achenbach, earning two RBIs in the first three innings. Â
- STU continued to extend their lead in the third with a double from Gilbert to bring Andujar home, and a single from Kaitlynn Martinez to bring home Gilbert to put the Bobcats up 4-0.
- Martinez notched another single in the top of the fifth that would bring home Emma Edwards, extending St. Thomas to a 5-0 lead.
- It wasn't until the bottom of the fifth inning that the Seahawks began to comeback, scoring three runs in the inning. But it wasn't enough to take the lead, and the Bobcats took home the victory, 5-3.
- Anna Toon earns the victory with six strikeouts across seven innings pitched.
Up next, the Bobcats will host the Battle of Miami Gardens against
Florida Memorial University, on Tuesday, March 25th and Wednesday, March 26th.
