MIAMI GARDENS, FL (MARCH 29, 2025) - The St. Thomas University women's tennis team picked up their seventh win of the season agaisnt Coastal Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles play,
Lauren Fullerton and partner
Jenesie Burgos dominated in a 6-1 win at #2 doubles, as
Sezin Akin and
Caterina Antonini claimed a win by default at #3 doubles, resulting in the Bobcats going up 1-0 entering singles play.
At #1 singles, Grad student
Lauren Seemann fell in a hard fought victory to Karlie Scott Kersey 5-7 3-6.
At #2 singles,
Caterina Antonini was on route to a three set victory but her match went unfinished (6-4 4-6 3-2).
At #3 singles, #21
Anita Chornei dominated with a 6-0 6-0 victory to put the team up 3-0.
Lauren Fullerton was set to play #4 singles but did not have to break a sweat as
Jenesie Burgos won by default at #6 singles, resulting in the 4-1 win.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, April 11, as they travel down the Palmetto to face rival Florida National.
