MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Hosting Keiser University in their long-awaited home opener on Wednesday evening, the 13t ranked St. Thomas University swept the Seahawks (25-21, 25-16, 25-12) in Sun Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• STU scored the opening point of the night and never trailed in the first set, using a 5-0 run after Keiser tied to score at 10-all to create a 15-10 advantage and kept the lead above two for the rest of the stanza. 

• After splitting the initial 24 points of the second set, the Bobcats scored nine of the ensuing 10 points to boast a 20-13 advantage. 

• Holding the visitors without a run greater than two for the entire final set, the Bobcats completed the sweep. 

NOTEWORTHY: 

• Raya Mlyakova boasted 10 kills on a .467 hitting percentage on top of six digs and two assisted blocks. 

• Aleksandra Ivanovic added 10 kills. 

• Payton Bertke logged 31 assists, seven digs, five kills and two service aces. 

• Fabiana Mucciola chipped in 14 digs. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• The Bobcats ended the match with 41 kills on a 323 hitting percentage, Keiser tallied 27 on a .071 clip. 

• STU served eight aces while the visitors logged five.
