Box Score Miami Gardens, Fla. – With the inaugural Men's Bowling season on the horizon, St. Thomas University's Director of Bowling Operations John Michalenko announced the hiring of Joshua Atkinson as the Head Coach for both the Men's and Women's programs.

"We are blessed to have Joshua as our new head coach for the bowling teams," Michalenko said. "He has four years of collegiate bowling experience that will benefit our young teams as we prepare for and compete in regional and national tournaments."

Atkinson joins the Bobcats after concluding his collegiate career at Belmont Abbey College. While with the Crusaders, Belmont Abbey won three-consecutive Conference Carolina Championships while setting the program record for wins in a single season. He was a four-time National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Academic All-American.

"I am excited to be a part of the new era of STU bowling and look forward to establishing STU as a leader in the college bowling arena," Atkinson said. "With the new bowling center on campus, we have a competitive advantage in preparation and recruiting, making STU a desirable destination for future student athletes."

The 2025-26 Bowling season is set to begin this fall.
