Miami Gardens, Fla. – Going up against their first nationally-ranked opponent of the 2025 campaign on Thursday evening, the St. Thomas Men's Soccer team rose to the occasion to earn their first victory of the year in a 5-1 triumph over No. 19 Mid-America Christian.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Thiago Patto found Angelo Bernardes in the 10th minute to quickly give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
- Bouget Bouzis recovered the ball after his initial shot was saved and placed the ball past MACU's keeper to extend the host's lead to 2-0 at halftime.
- Mid-America cut the separation in half in the 51st minute.
- Luca Heusser extended STU's lead in the 73rd minute off a pass from Bernardes before connecting with Kay Maletzki in the 80th minute to create a 4-1 advantage.
- Tim Kreuzpeinter concluded the scoring off a free kick in the 84th minute.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Bouget took a team-high four shots.
- Sandro Cabral earned his first win as the Bobcats' keeper.
