Gainesville, Fla. – Highlighted by a pair of top finishes from
Tonyan Beckford, the St. Thomas University Track and Field team had nine Bobcats set nine National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) A and B standards at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center Invitational.
MEDAL WINNERS (MEN):
- The 4x400 Relay of Jimmy Baptiste, Kenzie Knowles, Jalen Tanner and Justin Weaver ran an "A Standard" time of 3:14.90 that won the event.
- Elijah Smith won the Long Jump off an "A Standard" feat of 7.82 meters.
- Jalen Tanner placed second in the 200 Meter using a 21.79 time.
- Jonathan Petit-Frere boasted an "A Standard" time of 2:26.65 in the 1000 Meter to take third on top of a "B Standard" time of 1:52.42 in the 800 Meter to earn second place.
- Alberto Moreira finished second in the 3000 walk off a 16:06.79 time.
- Landan Creighton accumulated 4,271 points in the Heptathlon to place second.
- Nicholas Altheimer recorded a "B Standard" time in the 60 Meters off a 6.76 run that earned third place before adding another bronze in the 300 Meter behind a 34.36 trot.
- Kenzie Knowles finished third in the 400 Meter behind a "B Standard" time of 48.04.
- Edwin Vega Ramos placed third in the 3000 walk behind a 18:22.92 time.
MEDAL WINNERS (WOMEN):
- Beckford recorded a pair of "A Standard" times via a 24.24 run in the 200 meter and 55.83 mark in the 400 meter, good for gold in both.
- Nyrania Barr-Miller recorded a "B Standard" time in the 60 Hurdles via an 8.73 run.
- Savianna Joseph won the Shot Put behind a 12.84 meter mark.
