Bobcats Break Away Late to Top Webber International at Home

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA ( JANUARY 28, 2026) - The St. Thomas University men's basketball team earned a 91–71 home victory over the Webber International University Warriors, pulling away in the second half to secure the win.St. Thomas used a balanced offensive effort and strong shooting to control the game, finishing at 51.7 percent from the field and knocking down 12 three-pointers. After a competitive first half, the Bobcats maintained their efficiency after the break and steadily built separation, extending the lead to as many as 20 points late in the game.

Adrian Cruz led all scorers with an efficient 26 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, while also adding seven assists. Kaleb Myers followed with 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds, providing a strong presence inside. Esteban Lluberes added 15 points, hitting five three-pointers, and Colin Nutter chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.

St. Thomas controlled the glass with a 34–20 rebounding advantage and converted 19-of-24 free throws. The Bobcats also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring 14 points off offensive rebounds.

Webber International was led by Landon Tillman, who scored 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Nirobi Peeler Jr. added 16 points, while Deon Brown finished with 11. The Warriors shot an efficient 54.9 percent from the field but were limited to just seven three-pointers and struggled to keep pace as St. Thomas' offense found its rhythm in the second half.

The Bobcats will be happy to collect a conference win, and look to continue their momentum as they travel to Brunswick, Georgia, on Saturday, January 31 to face Sun Conference opponent College of Coastal Georgia.
