Miami Gardens Fla. – Wrapping up a six-game homestand on Tuesday afternoon, the St. Thomas University Women's Basketball Team outlasted visiting University of Fort Lauderdale in a 78-40 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· After splitting the initial 26 points of the contest, the Bobcats ended the first quarter on an 11-0 run to create a double-digit lead at 24-13.
· The Bobcats carried their run into the second quarter with the first seven points of the frame, holding UFTL to one run of consecutive baskets via a pair of layups back-to-back to boast a 45-22 lead at halftime.
· STU opened the second half with six-straight points and kept the lead above 25 for the duration of the contest.
NOTEWORTHY:

Madison Lippy paced the offense behind 17 points on 5-8 shooting, 4-7 from beyond the arc.

Sarei McGill added 13 points and six steals.

Ja'Nya Ferguson chipped in 11 points on 5-6 shooting.
· Taylor Morgan pulled down 12 rebounds while adding four assists.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· STU went 28-72 from the field, 6-30 from beyond the arc and 16-24 from the free throw line. Fort Lauderdale went 17-57, 0-7 from three and 6-15 from from the free throw line.
· STU held a 50-44 advantage in rebounds.
· The Bobcats forced 26 turnovers, resulting in 27 points. The visitors scored eight points off 13 turnovers.
· STU recorded 15 steals and four blocks versus nine steals and two blocks for the visitors.
