Tampa, Fla. - On Monday, The Sun Conference office announced Julian Ramirez as The Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Men's Soccer for October 5-11.

Ramirez was a key defensive piece for the Bobcats' two victories this past week over Webber International and Florida College. Ramirez played all 180 minutes for the Bobcats, and he was the only Bobcat to do so this week. He was key in limiting shot attempts, as Webber International had six total shots, and Florida College had just two shot attempts the entire game.

Ramirez has been a key contributor to the Bobcats' defense all season, as he has played the second-most minutes for St. Thomas this year. The Bobcats have allowed 1.18 goals per game, which is the second-best in the conference. They have also allowed just 7.5 shots against per game.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, as they travel to Sarasota to face New College of Florida. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm.
