Matchup History

St. Thomas leads the all-time series over Southeastern, 29-10. Last year, these two teams split the season series against each other, with the Fire winning the first game in five sets in Lakeland and the Bobcats winning the second game in four sets in Miami Gardens. The last time these two teams met, Raya Mlyakova hit .370 with 12 kills, and Payton Bertke had a double-double with 49 assists and 12 digs. 

Undefeated Septembers for Both Teams

Neither the Bobcats nor the Fire lost in the month of September. Currently, St. Thomas is on an eight-game winning streak, and Southeastern is on a seven-game winning streak. Both teams currently sit at the top of The Sun Conference standings, with this game having important playoff hosting implications. 

Narbutas' Strong Performance on Both Sides of the Net

Isabel Narbutas currently leads The Sun Conference in multiple categories. The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native has the highest hitting percentage in the conference at .326. That is .065 points higher than the next player. Narbutas also leads the conference in blocks with 56. 

Scouting Southeastern

The Fire enters Saturday's contest going 3-3 against ranked teams, including wins over #7 Indiana Wesleyan, #14 Morningside, and #21 Cumberlands. Southeastern has started conference play undefeated. Laura Bonomi leads the Fire in kills (226), Haven Speer leads the Fire in assists (501), and Mallori Grey leads the Fire in digs (295).

Saturday's Promotions

There will be multiple promotions on Saturday. At 3:30 pm, St. Thomas Women's Soccer will host their first-ever Alumni vs. Alumni game. For the game against Ave Maria, it will be a Pink Out. Also, the Bobcats will be celebrating Weston FC Night. 

Matchup History

St. Thomas leads the all-time series against Ave Maria, 16-4-3. The series has been much closer over the last ten games, with the Bobcats leading the series 4-3-3. These two teams played earlier this season in a non-conference game at Ave Maria, in which the Bobcats defeated the Gyrenes 3-0. Julia Ezcurra, Rebecca Louis, and Mariana Sanchez all had goals. Emma Butcher made four saves in the shutout victory. 

Solid Goaltending

The Bobcats rank second in The Sun Conference in total saves (51) on the season. St. Thomas is averaging 4.64 saves per game, which is also second in the conference. Bobcats' goalie Emma Butcher leads the entire Sun Conference in saves per game with 4.20, which is 0.98 goals more than the second goalie on the list. 

Scouting Ave Maria

The Gyrenes dropped their Sun Conference opener on Wednesday, losing 0-4 against #17 Southeastern. The Gyrenes have played well on the road, going 3-1-1 so far this season. Ave Maria averages 1.75 gals per game, and is allowing 1.88 goals per game. Claire Wrobleski leads Ave Maria in goals scored with five.

Bobcats' Strong Start

St. Thomas is off to a strong start in their inaugural season. Through four games, the Bobcats are averaging 7.75 goals per game, while only allowing 2.5 goals against per game. St. Thomas currently sits at the top of the ACC M2E Palmetto division standings. 

FAU Connections

There are many connections between St. Thomas and Florida Atlantic hockey programs. St. Thomas Head Coach Kevin Hoy was the Co-Head Coach for the Owls' Division III program last season. Bobcats' captain Justin Harshaw, defender Daniel Tovb, and goalie Gunnar Stevens were also with Florida Atlantic last season. 

Scouting Florida Atlantic

The Owls started their season last weekend, as they were swept at the University of Tampa, losing 3-7 and 1-5. Friday will be Florida Atlantic's home opener. Florida Atlantic is the defending College Hockey South Division II Champions.
