Hardeeville, S.C. - In a physical game just north of the Georgia-South Carolina state line, #18 Men's Soccer (8-3-3 Overall, 4-0-3 Sun) survived being a man down for over half the game in a scoreless draw at SCAD (3-9-2 Overall, 3-1-2 Sun).
St. Thomas' Maksym Osadchyi received a straight red card in the 24th minute after a tackle, leading the Bobcats to play a man down for the rest of the game. The defense did a great job, as they allowed just seven total shots from SCAD, with only two on goal in the shutout. Four Bobcat defenders played all 90 minutes and were a big factor in St. Thomas earning a point in this game: Juan Braz, Manuel Dominguez, Julian Ramirez, and Chris Stafford. Matias Fuentes was in goal for the Bobcats, and he made two saves in his third shutout of the year.
Offensively, Braz also helped control the ball, as he led the way with six shots. The Bobcats had 19 total shots, with seven shots on goal. Diego Luengo had the most shots on goal, with two on the night.
The Bees played physically, as they had 18 fouls compared to St. Thomas' four fouls. After an early yellow and red card went against the Bobcats, SCAD was then issued four yellow cards in the game.
The Bobcats will return to action in a week for the regular-season finale, as they will host Southeastern for Senior Night. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 7:00 pm on AutoNation Field.
