Miami Gardens, Fla. – Led by six-point showings from
Hailey Josleyn and
Paige Peters on Sunday afternoon, the St. Thomas University Women's Lacrosse team earned their first victory of the 2026 campaign in a 16-4 win over visiting Georgetown College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Starting with a Peters' goal 1:12 into the contest, the Bobcats scored five straight with Josleyn, Madison Proud and Brooke Simpson all scoring before three-straight tallies by the visitors made it 5-3 at the end of the opening period.
- St. Thomas held Georgetown off the scoreboard for the entire second and third period, getting goals from Simpson, Joselyn (twice), Riley Taylor, Alana Throne (twice) and Peters (three times) to create a 14-3 score heading into the final 15 minutes.
- Georgetown ended the run with 10:49 remaining in the contest before back-to-back Josleyn tallies created the final score.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Josleyn and Peters each recorded five goals and one assist for six points alongside two caused turnovers while Josleyn added five ground balls.
- Proud tied for the team lead with five ground balls.
- Day Thomas forced five turnovers.
- Simpson recorded two assists to go with two goals for four points.
- Kaitlyn Atchinson stopped two shots in the win.

- The Bobcats took 43 shots, 28 on goals versus nine shots for the visitors with five on target.
- STU forced 42 turnovers while recording 24 of their own.
- St. Thomas held a 32-15 advantage in ground balls.
- The Bobcats won 13 draw controls while Georgetown won 10.
