Miami Gardens, Fla. – After dropping the opening game of their three-game series against No. 4 Georgia Gwinnett on Friday, the No. 18 St. Thomas University swept Saturday's doubleheader behind an 8-0 run rule victory in game one and 7-1 triumph in the sequel.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
- Leading off the contest with a triple, Mya Achenbach scored the opening run of the contest off a GGC wild pitch before Bailey LeGere and Emma Edwards plated Jade Fayad and Giovanna Sardona to quickly give STU a 3-0 lead.
- A solo home run from Achenbach in the bottom of the second extended STU's lead to 4-0.
- LeGere capitalized on a Grizzlies' wild pitch in the bottom of the third to make it 5-0.
- Maggie Kirk sent Achenbach home in the bottom of the fourth off a double before being sent home by a Sydnee Fordham single to make it 7-0
- A GGC error in the bottom of the sixth gave the Bobcats' the run-rule win.
NOTEWORTHY (GAME 1)
- Achenbach fell a single shy of the cycle, hitting a home run, triple and double while scoring three runs.
- LeGere went 3-3 with one run scored and one RBI and two stolen bases.
- Kirk recorded two RBI
- Johana Magaldo threw a complete-game shutout with three hits allowed.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
- Edwards started the scoring with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the first that scored Achenbach and LeGere.
- Loading the bases in the bottom of the third, Bre'Asia Thomas send Fordham home with a hit by pitch.
- Fordham sent Achenbach home in the bottom of the fourth with a single before a Georgia Gwinnett error allowed Ana Mendieta to touch home plate and make it 5-1.
- GGC cut into the lead with a run in the top of the sixth.
- A double-steal by Lilly Herndon and Achenbach in the bottom of the sixth scored a run before a Fayad RBI groundout scored the Bobcats' final run of the series.
NOTEWORTHY (GAME 2)
- Achenbach went 2-3 with four stolen bases, three runs and one walk.
- LeGere went 2-2 with a run scored and RBI.
- Edwards recorded two RBI.
- Edwards hit a grand slam.
- Melody Vizcaino threw 4.0 scoreless frames to get the win.
- Christina Ortiz tossed the final three innings for the save.
