Wichita, Kans. – Going up against the best in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) over the weekend,
Ghee Rachal from the St. Thomas University Men's Wrestling Team earned three victories in the 197 lb Division at the NAIA National Championship to earn All-America distinction.
Entering play as the eighth seed in the bracket, Rachal began his Championship run with back-to-back victories via an 11-5 decision over Chase Stieb from Doane and a 10-3 triumph over ninth-seeded Kasten Grape from conference foe Southeastern. Falling for the first time at the national site against top-seeded and eventual Champion Garavous Kouekabaklaho from Grand View, Rachel secured his place as an All-American with an 8-7 victory over Elias Corona from Southern Oregon.
Joining Rachal at the NAIA Championship, Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Newcomer of the Year
Gage Cook went 2-2 in the 285 lb Bracket with 4-1 wins over Ian Clifford from Indiana Tech and Bryce Wheatley from Southeastern.
