Men's Soccer Opens Season With 2-0 Victory at Xavier University (La.)

New Orleans, La. – Kicking off the 2026 season on the road on Thursday afternoon, the St. Thomas University scored their first goal of the campaign in the 21st minute while holding host Xavier University (La.) off the scoreboard for a 2-0 victory,

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Julien Laborde capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity in the 21st minute to give the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead. 

NOTEWORTHY: 

  • Laborde found the back of the net in his STU debut while taking four total shots with two on target. 

  • Heusser took two shots, both on goal, with one getting past XULA's keeper. 

  • Braz tallied an assist. 

  • Ricardo Delgado recorded a clean sheet in his first game as a Bobcat with two saves.
