Hialeah, Fla. – Fueled by an efficient .438 hitting percentage on Friday afternoon, the 14t h ranked St. Thomas University Women's Volleyball Team swept host Florida National 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-11)

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Trailing early in the opening set 6-2, the Bobcats scored six of the ensuing seven points to take an 8-7 advantage while holding the host without a run of consecutive points until back-to-back tallies made it 19-14 in favor of the Bobcats. 

• The Bobcats withstood an early 3-0 run by FNU in the second set that gave them a 3-2 lead and scored four of the following five points to hold a 6-4 lead and held onto it for the rest of the frame. 

• St. Thomas scored the opening point of the third and led the for the entire stanza to complete the sweep. 

NOTEWORTHY: 

• Mia Laursen set her career highs behind 12 kills on a .476 clip alongside five digs and three assisted blocks. 

• Payton Bertke dished out 21 assists with five digs. 

• Madelynn Coates tallied six digs. 

• Valerie Delgado tied for the team lead with six digs. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• The Bobcats ended the match with 35 kills on a .438 hitting percentage; Florida National tallied 30 on a .095 clip. 

• STU served 10 aces while the host tallied 13 

• St. Thomas recorded 14 assisted blocks versus four assisted for the Conquistadors. 

• The Bobcats held a 39-21 advantage in digs.
