AVE MARIA, Fla. – Closing out the month on the road on Wednesday evening, the 22n d-ranked St. Thomas University Women's Volleyball team overcame an opening-game setback at Ave Maria with three-straight sets for a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-16).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Despite holding a late 20-16 advantage in the opening set, the hosts flipped the lead behind a 6-0 run that propelled AMU to a 22-20 lead that they maintained down the stretch.
- Trailing late in the second set 21-20, the Bobcats scored three-straight points to hold a 23-21 advantage.
- After splitting the initial 26 points of a back-and-forth third set that saw 11 tied scores, the Bobcats scored back-to-back points to take a 2-1 overall lead.
- Holding the Gyrenes to just three strings of back-to-back points during the fourth set, the Bobcats prevented Ave Maria from forcing a fifth set.

- The Bobcats ended the match with 51 kills on a .152 hitting percentage; Ave Maria tallied 34 on a .080 clip.
- STU served three aces while the host tallied 12.
