Career: Alex Sarmiento began his STU career in 2015 and is the only member of the Bobcats team to appear in a NAIA Opening Round in each season (Lawrenceville 2015, Kingsport 2016, Montgomery 2017, Hattiesburg 2018) and two NAIA World Series appearances (2015, 2018)...Sarmiento has appeared in 47 games and has made four starts, including against the University of Miami in 2016... Sarmiento has a 4-0 record... he was a key piece in the backend of the bullpen for the record breaking Bobcats in 2018, pitching 30-innings, in 18 appearances with a 3.00 ERA... He saved his best work for the playoffs, allowing one earned run in his final 9.2 innings of work.

Personal: Sarmiento completed his undergraduate studies in 2018 and is now pursuing his Masters degree at St. Thomas University.
