Oscar Fernandez re-joins the St. Thomas University coaching staff for the 2019 - 20 season, where Fernandez coached fo six seasons, helping STU reach the NAIA World Series in 2007. Fernandez has been coaching locally in Miami since 2002, assisting on the Archbishop Carroll staff in the program's inaugural season in 2002.Â
In 2009, Fernandez was named the Head Coach at Florida Memorial University, coaching the Lions for three seasons and earned Sun Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2010, after guiding FMU to the conference tournament for the first time in program history. Following his time at FMU, Fernandez joined the coaching staff at East Central University in Oklahoma, serving in that position for one season.
Fernandez returned to Miami in 2014, and prior to this season, served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at ASA College.
