Nate Scola is in his fourth year as St. Thomas University’s Director of Strength and Conditioning.
Scola and his entire strength and conditioning staff work in unison with athletic training and medical staff to create the optimal environment for training and development. At STU, Scola oversees the Bobcat’s 5,000-square-foot weight room that he helped design and build. The facility is highlighted by twelve custom Rogue collegiate racks that feature built in platforms for an ideal and safe training environment.
He is part of a coaching and support staff that has led the Bobcat football program to a 36-10 record the past four years. While overseeing the 2024 Bobcats, 11 players earned all-conference selections as well as four positional player of the year awards. Five were also named NAIA All-America. This group finished the season 9-2 and climbed as high as the fifth ranked NAIA team in the country making it to the second round of the playoffs.
Along with the football program, Scola plays an integral part in the Bobcat’s men and women basketball teams. The men’s basketball team finished the 2023-24 season 22-9 and made it to the NAIA second round. The men’s basketball team also claimed the SUN Conference regular season title for the first time in six years. The 2023-24 women’s basketball finished the season with an overall record of 21-9 and earned a trip to the NAIA first round.
Originally, from Apache Junction, AZ, Scola was an All-America Linebacker and the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year while at Wabash College.
