DAYTONA BEACH, FL - 22 student-athletes from six institutions in The Sun Conference have been selected to the 2008 women's soccer All-Conference teams as voted on by the league coaches. St. Thomas University Bobcat Lotta Vartia was named to the All Conference first team.
Lotta played in all 18 games for the Bobcats during the season causing havoc for opposing teams as a defender and forward. She finished the season with two goals, tied for second highest total on the team. Her goals came against Thomas University and Barry University.
League regular season champion Northwood placed seven on the All-Conference roster, while Savannah College of Art and Design and Embry-Riddle each had five.
Northwood captured three of the four individual awards, including Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the year. In addition, Northwood head coach Ty Brewer was named Coach of the Year after leading the Seahawks to their third straight regular season crown.
