MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.-  The Lady Bobcats played their second Sun Conference game Friday night as they welcomed the Warner Royals to the Fernandez Center.  STU came out on top, 64-50, and improved to 6-6 on the season.

The Bobcats dominated early, taking a 30-18 advantage into the half.  Nickerline Montina provided 13 points off the bench in the first half and led the Bobcats in scoring.  Cindy Castillon and Alexandria Vanterpool supported with 6 points each.

The Royals revamped their strategy in the locker room and came out firing.  Warner came within just 2 points at the eleven minute mark following an 11-0 run.  Fortunately, Carissa Staiano hit back-to-back free-throws and Coach Robin Harmony immediately called a timeout to organize the team's effort.  Within five minutes, the Bobcats built their lead back up to 11 and had the game under control.

Three Bobcats scored in double figures including Castillon (10), Vanterpool(18) and Montina (18).  STU won both rebounding and turnover battles to pad the stat sheet. The Bobcats will face the Gyrenes of Ave Maria Saturday at home for a 2 PM game.
