SAN FRANCISCO, Cal. - St. Thomas (1-1) played to California opponents during their time on the west coast. The Bobcats first headed to Atherton to battle against Menlo College (3-0) at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. STU dropped their first Cali matchup as they fell to Menlo 75-89. The Bobcats then headed backed to San Francisco to face off against Division I opponent, University of San Francisco at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Bobcats dropped their second game of the trip falling to the Dons at a score of 69-87.
The trip was a great experience for the Bobcats as they were able to explore the west coast as well as face new competition. During the Melno matchup, STU was able to post five different players with double digit points with
Dannisha Pierce (15),
Jamesha Willis (13),
Claudia Martin (10),
Alliya Pinckney (10) and
Shaye Barrett (10). Martin also led the Bobcats rebounding with nine boards.
In the University of San Francisco exhibition game, the Bobcats had three players post double digit points with Pierce (18), Martin (16) and Willis (11). Pierce was the one who led the Bobcats with boards this game with seven total rebounds.
The Bobcats have another exhibition game on November 12 at 7 p.m. versus Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla.
