Dannisha Pierce put up 25 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and four assists to lead St. Thomas (5-2) over Grace College (7-7) 75-63 on Tuesday evening at the Fernandez Family Center.
The Bobcats trailed for the majority of the first half by as much as eight points, yet STU was able to fight back to end the half with a one-point lead. The Bobcats shot over 60 percent from the field and made three out of four three pointers in the first half.
The Bobcats pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Lancers 40-29. and holding their opponent to 26 percent shooting. STU had a strong performance from
Claudia Martin with 16 points and six rebounds, along with
Antishia Wright who posted 10 points, three rebounds and two assists as well. Also scoring in double figures was
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan (12 points).
St. Thomas heads to Barry University in Miami Shores this Thursday, December 18 to take part in the Cruzin' Classic, where they will face off against Simpson College at 4 p.m.
