MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Dannisha Pierce scored 24 points, pulled down nine rebounds and recorded seven steals to lead St. Thomas (6-3) to a 62-55 win over University of Quebec at Montreal (3-1) Monday night at The Athlete's Meals Classic.
Pierce went 9-of-13 from the field to pace the scoring and was particularly strong early in the game offensively, scoring 20 of her 24 points in the first half.
Claudia Martin scored 14 points with most of her production coming from the charity stripe, going 10-of-12 from the line. Antishia Wright also scored in double figures with 11 points to go along with six rebounds.
Janice Quintos led the UQAM with 15 points, while Jessica Lubin registered a game-high eight rebounds.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday at 5 p.m. vs. Trinity International in the final game of The Athlete's Meals Classic.
