MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (10-3, 3-0 TSC) went on a 17-0 run in the second half en route to a 65-51 win over Northwood (2-10, 1-2 TSC) Saturday afternoon at the Fernandez Family Center. The Bobcats trailed 35-34 at halftime before outscoring the Seahawks 31-16 in the second half.

Dannisha Pierce, the reigning NAIA DII National Player of the Week, led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Pierce, who scored 16 of her 19 points in the second half and played all 40 minutes, also pulled down nine rebounds.

Antishia Wright led all players with 13 rebounds and seven assists to go along with eight points.Â
Claudia Martin came off the bench to record a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Also coming off the bench was
Jamesha Willis who scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting.Â
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan led all players with four steals.

The Bobcats held the Seahawks to just five field goals in the second half, including a stretch of nine minutes where NU did not make a field goal and STU ran off a 17-0 scoring run. After shooting 50% in the first half, STU held NU to just 19% shooting in the second half.

St. Thomas returns to action on Thursday vs. Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
