MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –
Dannisha Pierce and
Cleyder Blanco each recorded double-doubles to lead  St. Thomas (12-3, 5-0 TSC) to a resounding 80-36 win over Johnson & Wales (6-11, 1-5 TSC) Saturday afternoon at the Fernandez Family Center.

Pierce led all scorers with 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Blanco, playing in just her second game this season for the Bobcats, came off the bench to record 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bobcats was
Emma Grimes who had a career-high 12 points on four made three-pointers and
Claudia Martin (11 pts, 7 rebs).Â
Antishia Wright led all players with six assists.

Johnson & Wales hung with the Bobcats in the early going as the game was tied 13-13 with 12:27 left in the first half. STU then went on a blistering 34-7 run to end the first half to seize control of the contest.

STU shot 59% from the field and 10-of-12 (83%) from the free throw line. Â Â JWU was held to just 20% shooting from the field.

St. Thomas returns to action against Florida Memorial on Tuesday at the Fernandez Family Center. Game time is 6 p.m.
