HUGE SECOND HALF SECURES BOBCATS SEVENTH CONFERENCE WIN

BABSON PARK, Fla. – In a battle for first place in The Sun Conference, St. Thomas (14-3, 7-0 TSC) closed the game on a 20-4 run to defeat no. 25 Webber International (13-3, 6-2 TSC) 57-49 on Friday night in Babson Park.  It marked the ninth consecutive win for the Bobcats. 
 
Antishia Wright and Desanta' Franklin-Jordan each scored 14 points to lead the Bobcats.  Wright dished out a game-high six assists, while Franklin-Jordan made four three-pointers.  
 
The game was tied 24-24 at halftime, but the Warriors opened the second half on a 14-2 run.  The Bobcats battled back with a 10-0 run capped off by back-to-back three-pointers by Wright and Franklin-Jordan to take the lead 47-45 with 3:39 remaining.  A layup by WIU's LaQuandra Brazil tied the game at 47, but Franklin-Jordan hit two more three-pointers to give STU a six-point lead with 2:14 to play.  Wright and Pierce hit free throws to ice the game for the Bobcats who outscored the Warriors 20-4 over the game's final 7:16. 
 
St. Thomas returns to action on Saturday with a conference road game at Warner in Lake Wales, Fla.
