BOBCATS REMAIN PERFECT ON THE ROAD WITH WIN OVER WARNER

BABSON PARK, Fla. - St. Thomas (7-4, 4-1 TSC) picked up another conference victory with a 1-0 decision over Warner (1-9-1, 0-5 TSC) to remain perfect on the road.  Kris Wilkinson's goal in the game's second minute proved sufficient as the Bobcat defense held the Warner offense scoreless throughout.  Goalkeeper Deljan Bregasi secured his third victory of the season and third shutout of the year.  This latest victory moved the Bobcats into sole possession of the Sun Conference second seed, just behind Thomas (Ga.).

The Bobcats wasted no time getting into the fray.  The first shot of the match netted St. Thomas the only score they would need to wrap up their fourth conference victory.  Federico Moronell found Wilkinson for a beautiful into the net.  It marked Wilkinson's third goal of the year, and it came barely three minutes into the contest.

The Bobcat attack would not let up thereafter.  Despite only having one goal to show for it, the postgame box score illustrated just how much more active St. Thomas was compared to the Royals.  The Bobcats generated 17 shots, nine of which were on target.  The Royals had 12 of their own, but only two of which were on goal.  The difference in activity could also be seen in the keeper stats.  Warner's keeper, David Bartalos, had eight saves on the evening.  But that was clearly influenced by the fact that he was constantly under siege by the Bobcat forwards.  The Bobcats' Bregasi, on the other hand, only had to combat two balls all night.  Each Royal attempt was successfully stuffed by Bregasi.

St. Thomas returns to the comforts and beautiful greenery of Bobcat Field for the next game on the slate.  The Webber International Warriors will be heading down the interstate to mix it up with the Bobcats in another Sun Conference affair.  The Warriors dropped their last match to Florida Memorial, but are hoping a victory against the Bobcats can turn their season around and fully establish themselves as contenders within the conference.  Kick-off is set for 4 P.M. E.T. this Saturday.
