MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas (10-4, 7-1 TSC) made it five in a row with their 1-0 victory over Johnson & Wales (6-6-2, 5-3 TSC).
Julian Grela scored his first goal of the season to lift the Bobcats over the Wildcats, and goalie
Deljan Bregasi picked up his fifth victory and recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
The match was a defensive struggle throughout. In the end, the victory went to the team that tried to create its own good fortune. That team was St. Thomas. The Bobcats took 19 shots on the evening, six of which were on target. Conversely, the Wildcats only had nine attempts of their own, only one of which was on target.
The Bobcats finally broke through in the 32nd minute when
Victor Cortez assisted Grela on the game's lone score. With offense at a premium in this affair, one goal was enough.
St. Thomas returns to action this Wednesday for their regular season finale at Florida Memorial. The Lions, currently seeded fifth in the conference, dropped their last match against Keiser and are hoping to end their regular season with a win. Kick-off is set for 5:30 P.M. E.T. at Vizcaya Park in Miramar, Fla.
