DENMARK, S.C. - The St. Thomas Women's Basketball team dropped its regular-season opener on Monday night, falling 64-45 to host Voorhees.
Katie Rienas was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with nine points after shooting three-of-five from beyond the arc. Desanta' Franklin-Jorsan and
Jamesha Willis each added eight points.
Leading the Bobcats on the boards were
Supavadee Kunchuan and Willis who each grabbed five revbounds. Willis also recorded five assists.
STU fell behind early and trailed 37-19 at halftime. The Bobcats were outscored by just one point 27-26 in the second half.
St. Thomas now travels to Montana for three games beginning Wednesday night vs. University of Montana-Western in Dillion, Mont.
