MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (14-5) sweep Marygrove College (0-5) in Wednesday afternoon doubleheader. In game one the Bobcats took down the Mustangs 7-2 in a seven inning game. And, in game two the Bobcats would defeat their opponents 11-1 in a five inning matchup.
Devon Stubbings and
Andrew Denis both pick up their first wins on the season.
David Quintero led the Bobcats in hitting during the double header as he collected three hits and three RBI all together.

In game one, Marygrove struck first in the second inning off an error at third base that scored a run. Shortly after, the Bobcats would respond with a powerful six runs in the third inning.
Paul Chacin and
Oscar Rodriguez both record RBI each that inning off a base hit singles. Â Stubbings would finish his strong performance in game one after four innings pitched, giving up only three hits, two runs, four walks and three strikeouts.
Alex Sarmiento would take over for the next three innings and allow only one hit, with two strikeouts in his three shutout innings. Stubbings would be awarded the win in game one, with Sarmiento given the save on the day, his first.

In game two, the Bobcats would have another strong performance on the mound, with
Andrew Denis pitching a complete game three-hitter and given his first win of the season. Denis would strikeout one and walk five, but only give up one run. The Bobcats would score early in the first and third inning, with their biggest inning coming in their seven run fourth. In that inning,
Michael Centeno,
Cesar Ramirez,
Eric Santamaria and Quintero would all record RBI with Qunitero rewarded two.Â

Elim Perritte Santamaria had multi-hit days, with
Jerry Downs, Chacin, and Centeno record one hit on the day.

Coming up, the Bobcats host a three-game Sun Conference weekend against Southeastern University with the first game starting this Friday at 6 p.m.
