MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The Bobcats (2-3) bounced back from Monday's overtime defeat with a solid victory over the previously unbeaten Middle Georgia Knights (3-1). Â The Bobcats scored two goals in the first half, and was able to thwart a late rally by the Knights.
St. Thomas netted its first goal of the contest in the 12th minute when
Sarah Lyppert Thomsson drilled the ball from 30 yards out and it sailed just over the out-stretched arms of the keeper. Â The Bobcats made the score 2-nil when
Jannel Johnson was able to convert a penalty kick in the 30th minute. Â The Knights would add a goal in the 79th minute when Micayla Crenshaw found Hannah Gullickson inside the box. Â Middle Georgia would pose no further threat, and the 2-1 score would remain final.
The Bobcats return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 16, when they face Ave Maria in a non-conference match-up. Â Kick-off is set for 4 P.M. E.T.
