MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas (13-3, 1-0 TSC) dominated Florida Memorial (3-9, 0-1) 25-11, 25-8, 25-14 to win in straight sets in the Sun Conference opener for both teams.  The Bobcats were led by sophomore Whitney Battoe who recorded 10 kills, five digs and four aces.  Dana Nowaczyk led all players with 26 assists, while Jessica Ingram (seven digs) and Jordan Wiese (six digs) led the way defensively.

The Bobcats trailed 8-6 in the first set, before winning 19 of the final 25 points in the opening stanza.  In the second set, STU reeled off a 14-0 run with Battoe serving to open up a 20-3 lead.  In the third set, the Bobcats jumped on the Lions 6-1, then later scored seven of the final nine points to finish off the match.

St. Thomas returns to action vs. Sun Conference rival Southeastern on Thursday at 7 pm at the Fernandez Family Center.
